Post 7 – My Contribution to the Astra (Spanish – Costa Rica) Project

Introduction

After several translation sessions, I was finally able to see the results of my work in the Astra – Spanish (Costa Rica) project. Step by step, I continued adding new translations until I completed a total of 304 translated strings, contributing to the localization of one of the most popular WordPress themes.

My Experience

When I started this project, I never imagined I would translate so many strings. Each session was a small step forward, and over time I could clearly see my progress.

Even though every translation seemed like a small contribution, together they help improve the experience of WordPress users who use Astra in Costa Rican Spanish.

Reaching this milestone also gave me a greater appreciation for the work carried out by WP Polyglots volunteers and the positive impact their contributions have on the community.

What I Learned

Throughout this project, I learned that contributing to WordPress is not only about writing code. Translation is another valuable way to support the community and make WordPress more accessible to people around the world.

I also discovered how collaboration allows contributors from different countries to work together toward the same goal.

Reflection

Completing this contribution was a very rewarding experience. Beyond the number of translated strings, I am proud to have participated in an international open-source project and to have made a small contribution to the WordPress community.
